How Curiosity Desk is funded

Curiosity Desk is free to read and currently operates without display advertising. In future, clearly labelled advertising, sponsorships or affiliate links may help pay for research, photography, hosting and the work required to keep the site accurate.

Money never chooses the answer

A commercial partner cannot select our evidence, approve our conclusions, buy favourable coverage or remove legitimate criticism. Curiosity Desk remains responsible for every editorial claim and correction.

What you may see

An advertisement will look separate from an article. Sponsored material will say that it is sponsored before you read it. If a link could earn Curiosity Desk a commission, that relationship will be disclosed beside the relevant recommendation or link.

What a commercial relationship does not mean

Payment, a supplied product or an affiliate relationship is not evidence that something works and is not automatically a Curiosity Desk recommendation. The article must still explain the evidence, important limitations and who a product or idea may not suit.

Your attention is not a hidden payment

We will not ask you to click an advertisement to support us, disguise an advertisement as navigation or make an essential answer harder to reach merely to show more ads. A story should be worth reading even when it earns nothing.
