Commercial transparency

Advertising and funding

Curiosity Desk is currently funded by its owner and does not yet display advertising. This page explains the rules we will follow if advertising, sponsorship or affiliate links are introduced.

Editorial decisions stay independent

An advertiser cannot buy a favourable story, remove a legitimate criticism or decide which subjects we cover. Paid material will be labelled clearly and will not be presented as independent reporting.

Advertising will be identifiable

Display advertising will be visually separated from article text. Curiosity Desk will never ask readers to click an advertisement to support the publication, and article navigation will not be designed to create accidental ad clicks.

Sponsorships and affiliate links

If a future article includes paid placement, a supplied product or an affiliate link, the relationship will be disclosed beside the relevant material. Affiliate links will use the appropriate sponsored link attribute. Payment will not change the evidence or the conclusion.

Audience growth and traffic quality

We may promote Curiosity Desk through ordinary social posts or compliant advertising, but we do not buy bot traffic, use traffic exchanges, promise rewards for visits or encourage interaction with ads. Campaigns must be measured against genuine reading and returning-audience signals, not raw click volume alone.

Reader privacy

Advertising cookies remain disabled while advertising is off. Our privacy policy explains Google advertising technologies, personalised-ad choices and the consent controls that must be active before advertising is introduced.
